Kris Mock, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in
Nashville, TN
MS, RDN, CSOWM, LDN
“It’s all about balance.”
Kris Mock is a Nashville native and has been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for more than 25 years. Her path into dietetics began during her junior year of college, when her father was diagnosed with cancer. Witnessing firsthand the impact nutrition had on his health and healing opened her eyes to the powerful role dietitians play in medical care — and changed the course of her career.
Up until that point, Kris believed the only roles in medicine were doctors and nurses. That experience introduced her to the field of nutrition and sparked a lifelong passion for helping others use food as a tool to support health, wellness, and quality of life.
Today, Kris supports adults seeking sustainable weight loss nutrition counseling, wellness-focused care, and long-term lifestyle change.
Kris’s Philosophy on Nutrition & Weight Loss
Throughout her career, Kris has focused on wellness and weight management, including eight years working in medical and surgical weight loss settings. She goes beyond simply educating clients about nutrition — instead, she focuses on how individuals can realistically apply what they learn to their daily lives.
Kris often hears clients say, “I know what to do — I just don’t know how to do it.” That’s where she thrives. She loves problem-solving alongside her clients and helping them develop practical, personalized strategies that truly fit their lifestyle.
Kris specializes in wellness, weight management, and sustainable behavior change. Her foundation is rooted in nutrition balance and lifestyle, and over time she developed a passion for a more integrative, root-cause approach. As a Certified Functional Nutrition Informed Professional, she enjoys connecting the dots between metabolism, hormones, inflammation, and overall health.
A Little About Kris
Kris enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs. As a family, they love exploring state and national parks and fitting in a friendly game of pickleball whenever they can.
Favorite dish to cook: Kris is quick to admit that she’s a dietitian who doesn’t particularly enjoy cooking — something many of her clients appreciate. She sticks to simple, balanced meals like salmon with broccoli slaw and frozen wild rice.
